Who? Econ1.Net is operated and provided by Economic and Financial Technology Consulting LLC. Paul Brewer (PhD, Caltech, 1995) founded the company.
What? Econ1.Net provides robot market simulations run in your browser or Google Cloud involving configurable market rules, agent strategies, and supply/demand settings.
Why? To aid in basic teaching and research in Microeconomics, which is the economics of market behavior. We also hope to help students and practitioners in agent based simulation and robotic systems.
Where? This website is aimed primarily at a United States audience. We can accept subscription payments from customers in the US and countries served by Fastspring, but not those in the EU
How? We've programmed the cloud so you don't have to, and tested various components for quality. We use Google Sign-In and Google Drive to store your files, so that you don't have extra passwords, and can easily get the data files for the economic studies we created for you. Sometimes, we use Google Compute Engine to run calculations for you that won't fit on your local PC or would take too long. We charge a subscription fee, to make sure we can get paid for the resources you use, so we can pay our bill with Google.
